UT-TSU Extension Services provide an educational link to the citizens of Cocke County. Educational programs and activities are available in the areas of family and Consumer Science, Agriculture, and 4-H, as well as the Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education program.

Family and Consumer Science

Family and Consumer Science education programs include nutrition, food preservation, parenting, finances, Diabetic education, Living well with Chronic Conditions and Arthritis Exercise.

The Tennessee Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) provides education for healthier food preparation, healthier eating, and healthier living.

Agriculture

Agriculture information runs the gamut from homeowner lawn and tree questions to mass production animals and vegetables. Agriculture programming includes classes for Advance Master Beef Produce Pesticide Certification, Fruit Trees, Beekeeping and Ag Enhancement information.

4-H

4-H programs serve youth 4th grade through 12th grade in Cocke County Schools. This program empowers youth to develop and strengthen life skills through hands-on activities and community events. Young people participate in 4-H through in-school club meetings, special interest meetings, after school programs, and judging teams and camps. Cocke County’s 4-H program focuses on prescription drug and alcohol abuse.
