Cocke County Highway Department

The Cocke County Highway Department is responsible for maintaining the roads and bridges located within Cocke County.
At this time we are responsible for 702.66 miles of roads and 186 bridges. Our duties include grading, rocking, pothole patching, mowing, ditching, tile installation and maintenance, paving, tree and debris removal, and sign maintenance as well as emergency work during snow, ice, and flooding. The Highway Department also operates its own quarry where all of the rock and fill materials used for road projects are produced.
